Sorry I have not posted this week - just had an incredibly busy week with early meetings, grant deadlines, etc.

Don't give up hope. I'm back in action. Let's see if we can get some lurkers to show their faces. I'll file a few clues later

One general comment that I made before. After posting and returning to your blog my comments are not directly displayed. Maybe if you showed some or part of them it would demonstrate activity and encourage others to participate

  5. Key Largo loses right | desire (4)
LAT 51a: Key is an odd anagram indicator, but not so much I couldn't get the goal of this clue.

Settled up | with modern swaddling gear (6)
LAT 9d: This reversal would only work as a clue for a down word. For anyone else reading this, I was late posing today, so neither of us saw the other's clues before both posting for this word.

Author | was not married, according to reports (4)
LAT 35a: Our game here is different from the crossword version Cryptic. With no limit on possible answers, this clue would have been impossible, because author is just too vague. Most of your clues, now that I look back on it, I'd never have gotten without knowing they were from the limited pool. But knowing that, they've been fun to suss out.

Crossed the Styx but received no | welcome (5)
LAT 53a: Was across the Styx, not crossed, which would be Charon, his boat, or his passengers, not the land they're bound for. Otherwise good.
